Having been born and bred on my families dairy farm near Bristol, I have always nurtured a keen interest for starting a business.
Following a foundation course in accountancy and a 3 year HND in Commercial Horticulture at Writtle College, I was extremely lucky to have an opportunity to purchase the property at Baginton in November 1981 and proud to be co- founder of Baginton Nurseries, with my wife Caroline.
The embryonic business flourished year on year surpassing my wildest dreams, supplying plants, not only fit for the Queen (Royal Parks contract Summer 2017) but winning contracts to grow specifically for the Royal Horticultural Society Flower Shows.
I have guided our business, through some years of extreme adverse trading and weather conditions, producing many personal challenges, that thankfully created numerous positive changes for future years.
Our loyal staff, have been paramount in shaping our business to become an enterprise with an enviable reputation.
I like to feel that I have had some part in developing the enthusiasm, energy and loyalty of our staff.
Despite the fulltime focus on developing a stable future for the Nursery, I still have time to enjoy other activities.
My leisure time is largely made up of cycling, playing squash, photography and reading.
However, my favourite pastime is travelling with Caroline to destinations featured on our bucket list!
