I have nurtured a love of nature, plants and gardening since childhood, when I helped family members in their gardens.
I worked for a landscaper and in alpine, herbaceous, and shrub nurseries in the school holidays on the Pennines in West Yorkshire, where I grew up.
I studied at Nottingham University`s School of Agriculture and received a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Science, specialising in Horticulture and plant pathology. I worked for the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Advisory Service for 7 years as a Horticultural Advisor, before joining Will to start up Baginton Nurseries as a business and then a husband and wife partnership in 1982.
The seed sowing and plant propagation part of the business interests me most. I enjoy growing and selling plants at fund raising events within the local community.
My interests include visiting and entertaining friends and family, especially our two daughters, their partners and their dogs. We have always loved keeping pets, including dogs, tropical and pond fish and encouraging wildlife to visit and make their homes in our garden.
I enjoy local history, archaeology, field walking in the countryside and exploring the rich historical heritage, both in this country and abroad.
I also joined a local choir 3 years ago, which I find very uplifting and rewarding.
